What the appointment covers
The lawyer reviews the document, explains material rights and risks, asks questions to confirm understanding and voluntariness, and provides an opportunity for confidential questions.
How to prepare
- Provide the complete document package in advance.
- Bring valid identification and any background documents requested.
- Allow enough time to consider the advice before a signing deadline.
- Do not assume the lawyer can certify advice if key information is missing.
